If you install the QR code but do not complete activation by dialling *110*667#, the line stops once 500MB has been used. Dial it as soon as you arrive.
If you cannot get online, change the APN to internet.beeline.ru (username: beeline, password: beeline).
Tethering is supported; keep the APN as m2m.beeline.ru.
You can install it before you leave; it activates when it first connects to a network in Russia.
You can reinstall it up to 5 times on the same device.
There is no automatic usage alert, so keep an eye on your data.
These apps are confirmed to be blocked in Russia: Facebook, Instagram, Viber, WhatsApp, ChatGPT (others may be too).
The date rolls over around 06:00 Japan time — activating just before that can burn most of day one
